DJAARA is seeking one representative from each Djaara Family Group to join the Djaara Family History Group. Representatives will contribute strong knowledge of their Family Group’s family trees, ancestral history, kinship connections and relevant historical information.

The Djaara Family History Group will work collaboratively to verify and extend genealogical information, review relevant family-history records, and support a culturally informed and consistent membership verification process.

• One endorsed representative from each Djaara Family Group.
• Strong knowledge of the Family Group’s family tree and ancestral history.
• Knowledge of kinship connections, family names, places and historical records relevant to the Family Group.
• Ability to handle sensitive family information respectfully, confidentially and without bias.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other Family Group representatives, the Family History Committee, the Anthropologist and DJAARA staff.

• Participate in scheduled workshops and agreed follow-up activities.
• Share and verify family-tree and ancestral-history knowledge relevant to the representative’s Family Group.
• Review genealogical information and identify gaps, inconsistencies or areas requiring further research.
• Support careful review of relevant records, including the Red Book, where appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow agreed cultural, governance and information-handling protocols.

Representatives must be available to attend workshops and contribute to agreed work between meetings. Meeting dates, location, support and any remuneration arrangements will be confirmed with selected representatives.
